We like to do that, don't we?
...become "someone else" for awhile?

That's one way to change:
From the outside in.

Another way is from
the inside out:
Renew
Create
Transform

....become "someone else" for eternity.

Being transformed by Him,

A day at the fair

Went to the state fair yesterday.
What a day!
Smells, sights, sounds, sensations...all unique to the FAIR!
Such fun!!
Fantasy, really.
Going up, coming down, going round and round and round..
Enjoyable, but wouldn't want to live there.
Eating cotton candy and fried Indian bread could possibly get old....

The "eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die" philosophy is a bit thin.

We still have TODAY!

How about you?  What about YOUR "today?"

A fair fare,

Ele

Willing, not just able

A  thought entered my pea-head this morning:
Jesus is not only able (being God and all) but
HE IS WILLING to 'BE" in our lives!

How is that possible?

It didn't come easy for Him, did it?

We see the struggle throughout the Gospels.

We hear it in John 12:
"Now my soul is DEEPLY troubled."  That's about us...you and me.
WE were the "trouble" in that thought.

I can't even stand, I'm so blown over.  So I think I'll join those of old
and kneel.
Kneel before Jesus.

HE IS WILLING!!

Quiet on my knees,

Planned, in advance.....

Monday morning.
First day of the week.
LOTS to do, to get accomplished, right?
Then it happens: someone gets sick. Help is needed.
What to do? Stress out? Feel imposed on? Hide?

OR...
remember: We are GOD'S MASTERPIECE,
                  Created in Christ Jesus
                  To do GOOD works....
                  Which HE has PLANNED......
                        IN ADVANCE....
For us to do!  (Ephesians 2:10)

              The "unanticipated" becomes the embraced,
              The "unannounced" becomes the preferred.

What did God "plan, in advance, for you to do, TODAY?"

Living out HIS plan,

Ele

Reunions

Reunions.  re-union
Implies that something once was "unified" and
now is unifying again... reunion.

Just got the fb message that our high school class of '70 is going to have it's
reunion.
Interesting.
Amazing.
Exciting.
Motivating.....
(now I really HAVE to lose those extra pounds I keep
    TALKING about losing!)
Unifying again w/ people can be fun.  It also can be threatening:
"Will SHE come?"  "Will HE be there?"

 "Should I go....Will I go???"

Each morning is a "re-union" with Someone as well.
Someone who is interesting, amazing, exciting, motivating...

Jesus is there in Scripture desiring to unify Himself to us, again.

That's one re-union I want to have each morning, not just every once in a while....

How about YOU?

In a union with Him,

Valuable or Significant....or both?

God is soooo generous to us, isn't He?
He GAVE us, GIFTED us with eternal and lasting value.
NOTHING will ever change, touch or tarnish that.

However, GOD also gives humans choices as well as gifts.
Significance is NOT a gift; to be significant is a CHOICE.

How do you respond to that thought?

How do YOU define "significance?"

Let's interact on this foundational thought, shall we?

Valuing being significant,
Ele

Investing in another....

Investing time in another.
Is it really worth it?
We each wake up with 24 hours at our disposal.
Some of that time is already spoken for....
The day-liness of life, work, taking care of yourself....
However, we ALL have time that is "ours" to invest...or squander....
So, how about it?
Is the time we invest in another really worth it?
If so, how?

Investing time right now,
Ele

Life in the Airport

Coming, going
Here for a purpose beyond the surroundings...

The airport.

No one really wants to be there.
It is a "have to" to accomplish the "want to."

Walking, sitting, chatting, dozing,
Going through Security  (my personal un-favorite!:)

Kinda like life, isn't it?
We're "just a passin' through....
IF we have a Destination.

How are you "passin'" YOUR time...
Walking, sitting, chatting, dozing.....
Investing in others?
Living w purpose?

How is YOUR life....in the airport?

Investing in you,

Ele

The Journey Deepens

"Going on a bear hunt!"

Ever played/sang that as a child..with your child?

I have another version:

"Going on a People hunt!"
Yep, I'm going on a people hunt.
Life's Journey is deepening.
Life isn't for sissies; it's tough.
It takes focus, determination, power....
beyond ourselves,
to continue the journey as it deepens
and not to get 'plowed under' in the muck.

How about you?

Is YOUR journey getting deeper
or are you getting plowed under?

Sometimes it's tricky to tell the difference.....

Desiring to Deepen,
Ele

Missing you.....

"Crashed computer"
"Off line"
"Out of touch.."
Boy, what a difference a day makes!!
I've been without a computer for a little over a week now.
Man, do I feel isolated.
The world has passed me by.
I need to run to catch up.....
or so it seems.....

Then I pause and think:
What happens when I let a day (or two?) go by w/o spending time in the Word...
When I'm "out of touch" w/ Jesus....
When He's "off line" in my life?

Do I miss Him.....
like I'm missing you?

Musing,
Ele

Much ado about everything

Do you know what happens every seven seconds?  Does a baby enter the world? Does a soul leave this world?
Not sure about those. But, on average, one Baby Boomer retires every 7 seconds in the U.S.
And since Boomers make up a fouth of the total population in the U.S. that's a rather significant statement, wouldn't you say?
Are you a Boomer?
Are you an adult child of a Boomer?
Are you an aging parent of a Boomer?
Somehow, for sure, your life is directly influenced by someone of this incredible generation we know as Boomers.
Boomer defined pop culture in their teens and 20s.
They challenged the traditional role of women in their 30's and 40's.
Now, in their 50's and 60's they are in the process of changing culture again.
If you're a Boomer, how are YOU involved?
If you're related to a Boomer, how would you like them to be involved in YOUR life?
Yes!
Let's continue to make much ado about EVERYTHING....for GOD'S GLORY and the good of others!!
