Question: how do i find a mentor in my area to mentor me? :)
GREAT questions, Melissa. Several suggestions: 1. PRAY about it! Ask Jesus to lead you to the right person and that the person be open to HIS 'nudging' as well! 2. OBSERVE: Who in your life do you admire? Who displays character like you would like? Make a short list and pray about who to approach. 3. In the meantime, get and read the Moody Press release "Transforming Together." Available in amazon, in local bookstores. Gift the proposed Mentor w/ a copy as well and have her read it. Suggest that the 2 of you pray for a week then make a date to get together to share the answer. 4. When you do get together and the answer for both of you is "yes", then talk about how you envision your time together. If the answer is "no" go back to #1. You want the RIGHT Mentor, not just ANY Mentor....you want the One Jesus has in mind for you. It may take a bit of time, but, oh, it's worth it!! :)
